We want to make insurance easy, efficient and affordable, so everything runs smoothly and without hassle from start to finish.
Ominimo is perfect for people who like a fair price and a smooth digital experience. Are you a good driver? Then you may be paying too much for your insurance with traditional insurers. Ominimo is here for you if you feel you deserve a better deal. And if you are already used to apps for banking, ordering food or booking taxis, you will enjoy arranging your insurance through an app. You take care of everything easily online. In short, Ominimo is ideal for anyone looking for a simple and fast car insurance process. You save time and effort and arrange the right cover in a few minutes at a fair price.
We spent hundreds of hours researching the best car insurance in Belgium. That is why we can offer you three options: third-party liability, third-party liability + Mini Omnium and third-party liability + Full Omnium. Each option comes in two versions: Basic and Premium. If you are looking for an affordable price with the most important cover, our Basic package is a good choice. If you want maximum peace of mind and the best cover, our Premium package is for you.
Absolutely! At Ominimo the security of your transactions comes first. We use Mollie and full encryption to protect your sensitive information. You can be sure that our online payment process is just as secure as that of well-known platforms such as Bol, Amazon or Apple. Your financial safety comes first with us, so you can pay with confidence and without worry.
Your trust in us is justified for several reasons. Ominimo is backed by Zurich Insurance Group, a well-known Swiss insurance company with a rich history of 150 years. When you choose Ominimo, your claim is ultimately covered by Zurich Insurance, our exclusive partner in Belgium. This partnership means that a Zurich company (DA Direkt) stands behind Ominimo, so we can operate under their recognised licence, balance sheet and capital. In addition, both Zurich's activities and ours are closely supervised by the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) and the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA), which strictly monitor everyone in the insurance market. We are committed to respecting your rights, and any breach would not only damage our reputation and operations but also lead to heavy sanctions from the NBB or FSMA. Your peace of mind and satisfaction are our top priority, and we aim to strengthen your trust through transparency, reliability and compliance with strict rules.
Changing your policy at Ominimo is simple and easy. As soon as you have bought a policy, you receive an invitation to download our app from the Play or Apple Store. The app has a number of do-it-yourself features that are user-friendly and simple. From the app you can easily change all your details, manage your insurance documents, submit a claim and much more. But if you would rather not download the app, you can also reach our customer portal on our website. It offers the same user-friendly experience, and you can change your policy or carry out other tasks just as easily. At Ominimo we prioritise accessibility and simplicity so that you have your insurance completely under your own control.
Probably. We do encourage you to check for yourself, though. Take the time to compare our prices with those of other insurers. At Ominimo we work very efficiently, which keeps our costs low. That is how we can often offer you a lower price. If you do get a higher quote from us, it means we assess your risk as somewhat higher. We keep improving our pricing models to make this as accurate as possible. Until we get there: feel free to go with the competition if they give you a better premium. Above all we want what is best for you, without hassle. Your satisfaction and financial security come first with us. It matters to us that you can make the best choice for your insurance.
Put simply, we use a concept called the 'technical price' to work out what your insurance costs. This price has three main parts: expected claim costs, administration costs and acquisition costs. Expected claim costs: this is calculated by multiplying the chance of an accident (frequency) by the estimated cost of a claim (severity). For example, if the chance of an accident is 10% and the estimated damage is €3,000, the expected loss is €300 (10% x €3,000). Administration costs: this is a share of the fixed costs we allocate to each insurance policy. If our total fixed costs are €100,000 for every 1,000 policies we sell per year, we charge €100 per policy. Acquisition costs: this is what we pay to reach potential customers like you. For example, we invest in advertising on platforms such as Google, Facebook or price comparison sites (such as Verzekeringen.be). Suppose these costs also come to €50. When we add these parts together, the cost of taking out a policy for you comes to €450 (€300 expected loss + €100 administration costs + €50 acquisition costs). To remain a profitable business, we add a small margin, usually between 5 and 10% across our whole portfolio. Finally, there is an insurance tax of 9.60% included in your final premium, together with some additional legally required contributions depending on your cover, which we pass on to the relevant authorities. We believe in transparency and do our best to offer you a fair and competitive premium that accurately reflects your risk profile. If you have any questions or comments about our premiums, feel free to contact us.
No, definitely not! At Ominimo you get the same cover as at any other insurance company. We do not cut corners on your protection. Whatever cover you choose with them, you can get it with us too, and probably at a better price. Do not fall for other companies' "expensive prices": we offer top-quality cover without the high costs. Your peace of mind comes first with us and we make sure you get the best value for your money.
Here is the honest answer: it all comes down to the offer we can make you. Compare our premium with that of your current insurer. Can we give you a better deal? Then we would of course be glad to welcome you to Ominimo. But it is not only about the premium. We also promise you a better customer experience, because that is what we work hard on every single day. Your satisfaction matters most to us. We do everything we can to make your insurance simple, pleasant and hassle-free. So take a moment to compare. And if we come out better, you are more than welcome at Ominimo!
Zurich Insurance Group is our exclusive partner in Belgium and plays an important role in our service. DA Direkt, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich, is the risk carrier in our partnership. They are responsible for paying out all claims. We take care of all customer contact and service, but you take out the actual insurance policy with DA Direkt. They provide the licence, the financial resources and the capital behind our insurance policies. You can count on your protection being our top priority. Zurich has a strong reputation and many years of experience in insurance. They are also supervised by the National Bank of Belgium (NBB), so your rights are well protected. When you choose Ominimo, you get the best of both worlds: our smart technology and customer-focused service, combined with the financial security and reliability of Zurich. Together we provide safe and reliable insurance.
Certainly! There is no difference at all: a digital policy is just as valid as a paper one, both legally and in terms of cover. As soon as you complete your purchase on our website (or through a price comparison site), we send you your digital policy by email. You can keep the policy digitally or print it out; both copies are equally valid. With a digital policy you have the same cover and customer rights as with a paper one. And the best part? A digital policy is more convenient and less stressful because you do not have to hold on to it or carry it around, so you cannot lose it. So rest assured: your digital insurance policy is a reliable and safe way to have all the cover you need, easily accessible whenever you need it.
As soon as you complete your purchase, we send your insurance policy straight to your email address. You receive it almost immediately, within minutes if not seconds. Besides the email, you can also view your policy in our user-friendly app or in our customer portal on our website. We want to make sure you always have easy access to your policy, anywhere, whether you are on the road or at home. Taking out your insurance policy has never been this fast and easy!
In most cases we try to process your claim as quickly as possible. If your car is damaged, we ask you to go to one of our affiliated Fixico repairers. We then pay the bill, as long as it falls within the cover of your policy. How quickly your claim is handled depends on how bad the damage is and what kind of damage it is. Small claims, such as a broken window, can be settled within a few hours. Larger damage can take longer. This also depends on the availability of the workshop, so that we can be sure the repair is done properly and that we can assess everything thoroughly. We do everything we can to process your claim quickly while also examining the situation carefully and precisely. In rare cases (less than 1%), when claims become more complex (for example with personal injury) and legal proceedings may be needed, the waiting time is less predictable. But rest assured: we settle every claim as quickly and attentively as we can. We resolve accidents fairly and fast.

That guarantees every customer the same good service, wherever you are. Your comfort and satisfaction matter to us, and we offer you top-quality insurance and assistance everywhere.
As a company, we think it is important to meet your wishes as well as we can. That way our products and services keep getting closer to what you need, and you can arrange your affairs quickly and easily. Your opinion, ideas and constructive criticism are very important to us, so we always like to hear them. If you are ever unhappy with our service, you can write to us at contact@ominimo.be
No hassle, no delay – just fast, secure payments straight from your bank. Bancontact is the most popular payment method in Belgium and lets you pay directly through your own bank, whether you pay the full annual amount or monthly premiums. At checkout you are redirected to your banking app or online banking to approve the payment. The amount leaves your account straight away and we get confirmation immediately.
No, Bancontact is only available to customers with a bank account at one of the participating Belgian banks. If you do not have a Belgian bank account, choose another payment method, such as a credit card.
With SEPA Direct Debit you authorise us to debit payments automatically from your bank account within the EU. You only have to enter your IBAN and confirm the mandate. After that the amount is debited from your account automatically.
The payment is usually debited 1 to 2 working days after your account is closed. You receive a notice about this in advance.
You can use VISA, MasterCard/Maestro and American Express cards, and some VISA Electron cards. Besides paying by credit card, it is also possible to pay with digital wallets (Google Pay, Apple Pay).
All VISA, MasterCard/Maestro and AMEX cards that have been authorised for online payments by the issuing bank. Payment is also possible with web cards designed specifically for online use.
Store or provider cards with loyalty points cannot be used to pay online.
Co-branded cards that support online payments and are based on MasterCard or VISA can be used.
Once you have chosen your payment method at checkout on our website, the payment process starts. You are then redirected to Mollie’s secure payment page. To complete the payment, enter your card details, for example the card number and expiry date for Bancontact or your credit card, plus the 3-digit code on the back of the card. As soon as the payment starts, we immediately check that everything is correct. We check that the details are genuine, that there is enough balance and that you do not exceed the maximum purchase amount. If all the details are correct, the transaction goes through and is processed straight away.
Problems with Bancontact or SEPA Direct Debit:
- Not enough money: there is not enough money in your bank account to make the payment.
- Payment cancelled: you closed the browser window or cancelled the payment during your bank's process.
- Time expired: you took too long to confirm the payment, so the session expired.
- Technical problems at the bank: there are temporary outages or technical problems at your bank or its online banking.
- No internet connection: your internet connection dropped during the payment process.
Problems with a credit card:
- Problems with your card or account: you do not have enough credit limit for the purchase, or you have exceeded your daily or monthly transaction limit. Your card has expired, is blocked or has not been activated yet.
- Wrong details entered: you entered a wrong card number, CVV code or expiry date. A wrong billing address or using an unsupported card (such as Diners) can also be the reason.
- Security and fraud checks: the 3D Secure verification failed (for example by text message, app or fingerprint), or the transaction was flagged as suspicious (your bank blocked the payment because it triggered a fraud warning).
- Technical problems on our side or at the payment service: the payment processor or payment gateway is temporarily unavailable.
Every transaction always receives an identification code and we recommend making a note of it. If the transaction is refused by your bank during the payment attempt, please contact your bank.
During the verification process, the issuing bank tells the merchant's bank (the acquiring bank) whether the transaction can go ahead. The acquiring bank may not pass confidential information to a customer of another bank; only the bank that identifies the cardholder has that right.
This can happen if the card is verified on the payment page but you do not return to the seller's/provider's website. In that case the transaction is incomplete and is automatically treated as failed. In such cases the amount is not debited from your card and the reservation is released.
The payment process runs over a secure, encrypted connection (HTTPS with at least TLS 1.2). This makes sure your payment is completely safe. Once the payment is finished, you go back to the seller's website. If that website is not itself encrypted (so it does not use HTTPS), your browser will warn you that you have left the secure environment. This is not a risk to the security of your payment, though. The payment itself has already been processed securely.
For MasterCard it is called the Card Verification Code (CVC2), and for Visa it is the Card Verification Value (CVV2). This is a code on the magnetic strip of your credit card used to check the authenticity of the card during online purchases. For MasterCard and Maestro cards these are the last three digits of the number sequence on the back of the card. This code is needed when you pay online.
In the Verified by Visa system, registered Visa cardholders choose a password with the issuing bank in order to identify themselves during online purchases and be protected against unauthorised use of Visa cards. Mollie accepts cards issued within the Verified by Visa system.
In the Mastercard SecureCode system, registered Mastercard/Maestro cardholders choose a password with the issuing bank in order to identify themselves during online purchases and be protected against unauthorised use of Mastercard/Maestro cards. Mollie accepts cards issued within the Mastercard SecureCode system.
For MasterCard/Maestro cards this is a unique code that you sometimes receive from your issuing bank. If you have not received one, you can leave this field empty.
Payments with Bancontact and SEPA Direct Debit happen immediately. Payments by credit card can take 2-3 days.
We are sorry you were involved in an accident or damage. We hope nobody was hurt. You can report your claim directly to Ominimo through our website: https://ominimo.be/schade. To process your claim as quickly as possible, please fill in the claim form as completely and accurately as you can.
After you send your claim form, your claim is reviewed and handled by our team. Within two working days you receive a confirmation email with: your claim number, contact details, and the next steps in the process. Keep your claim number to hand when you get in touch about your claim.
If you have already received a claim number, you can contact our claims team for an update on the status of your claim. You will also receive emails about important next steps in the process.
Usually you lose five claim-free years when we pay out damage that you caused yourself. Damage from storm, hail, fire, theft, collisions with animals or vandalism usually does not count towards the loss of claim-free years. If you later repay the damage yourself, your claim-free years may be restored.
You can see this in your policy or by logging in to the customer portal.
You will find them in your email or by logging in to the customer portal. You can also ask our AI Assistant to look them up for you.
From the moment the car is registered in your name and has number plates, you are required to have at least third-party liability (BA) insurance. Without insurance you risk a fine or extra costs.
You will find this in your policy and in the policy conditions.
The excess is deducted from the claim amount paid to the repairer, and you pay it yourself. Even if you are not at fault, the excess applies as long as money is still being recovered from the other insurer. If we manage to recover it, your excess is refunded.
